Establish a true medical history to ascertain whether the patient requires a Natural Rubber Latex (NRL) free environment (see Latex Questionnaire template).
NB. Previously the rubber seals on local anaesthetic cartridges were a potential source of NRL. As of January 2018, NRL is not used as a material in the manufacture, containment or packaging of any UK products.
Risk assess the situation on a case-by-case basis.
